FishingFor a fishing enthusiast there is no place better suited than a visit to Bemm.
The river, lakes and surf each offer superb opportunities for anglers to experience some of the best fishing that can be had within coastal Victoria. Although Bemm River is best known as a Mecca for Bream fishing there are a variety of other species of fish that anglers can target. Bemm offers challenging fishing where rewards truly warrant an angler's perseverance. Angler's, their families and friends will be hard pushed to find a more unique haven in which to wet a line. It's certainly worth taking the time to discover Bemm River. Head up to Swan Lake where some epic Estuary Perch have been caught, but it doesn't matter if you hook one or not, because the place is so serene and peaceful, just a visit is worthwhile, it is about as far away from everywhere as you can get without being far away! |
Beaches & RiverA pleasant day trip to the falls, take a picnic and enjoy the tranquil setting. Try surf fishing at Pearl Point or one of the many other fishing beaches.
Call into Py-yoot Bay, which has lovely rock areas, great for snorkelling or just relaxing in the sun. There is also a great trip over to the Bemm River entrance, where you can take a picnic lunch, have a swim, snorkel in the shallow water or go tube riding. 
.The Bemm River Men's Shed is unique in that it is the only Men's Shed that processes venison and sells direct to the public.

Bird watchingThe lake side area abounds with Pelicans and Black Swans.
Terns and other ocean birds can be observed on the beach and on the dunes. Kookaburras, Lyrebirds, King Parrots and Rainbow Lorikeets thrive in the wilderness, and Sea Eagles can be spotted gliding effortlessly on thermals in search of their prey. Bird lovers will find that many other beautiful species can be observed with a minimal amount of searching. |
